  1. Hi, I'm trying to use an old stellaris launchpad board as a datalogger to an SD card for logging data from an accelerometer. I've already built such a project on the arduino hardware but best I can do is one reading per 2ms and I want to get it logging faster... at least 1 reading every 500us. So I thought I would port it onto the the launchpad boards I had kicking around. Straight up the SD card didn't work trying to use SPI(3) as the underlying SPI bus and I have downloaded and tried about 6 different sd card libraries but got nowhere. What I then did was go back to first princip
  2. Good evening, I have been working with the ez430-915 Chronos watch from TI for a project and I need it to communicate with the CC110L RF Anaren Air Boosterpack attached to a Stellaris Launchpad Microcontroller. I have searched around for a solution but all the answers I found were a few years old and did not provide a clear solution. I have also attempted to change the RF settings on the watch to match the AIR Boosterpack according to the user's manual. I am relatively inexperienced with RF modules and settings so I am not sure what exactly I need to change. I used SmartRF Studio to adjust
  3. Hello, I have a Stellaris Launchpad LM4F120XL Board and I am trying to interface with an 16x2 LCD. My LCD requires 5V and my Stellaris Launchpad has 3.3V output power pin. I have 2 questions, 1) Would it be alright if I connected the LCD to an external 5V supply and connected the data pins (D0-D7) to the Stellaris Launchpad GPIOs or do I have to have an LCD that operates on 3.3V supply? 2) Will it work if I connected the LCD to the 3.3V output power pin of the Stellaris Launchpad and connected the data pins (D0-D7) to the Stellaris Launchpad GPIOs ? Thank You
  4. Hello, sorry I'm totally beginner working with Stellaris less than a week so probably those questions will be silly but: I saw a project "Using Stellaris LaunchPad as a Thermometer" I wonder is it possible (and if yes how ?) to port to Energia ? Is there any ready library for DHT11 working with LM4F120 ? I saw this only for MSP430. Thank You Mic
  5. Hello everyone! I dont know how to add a new path in the Includes's folder when i create a new project in CCS v5. Can you help me? Thank you very much
  6. Hi all, I created a 3D model of the Stellaris LaunchPad and thought I could share it, so here goes: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2496393/StellarisLaunchpad.STEP (attaching .STEP files is not allowed, so Dropbox for now) I included all components I thought had some external relevance (and the chip itself for looks). All the pin positions are according to the LaunchPad manual, so they should be accurate. Other positions have been measured with a caliper, but as always - trust but verify. Dimensions of the pins themselves (apart from height) should not be trusted, they're most
  7. Hi, I've designed a circuit to produce a high voltage, high frequency sine wave from a low voltage square, produced by a microcontroller(Stellaris Launchpad). I've used a simple LC oscillator as a voltage magnifier. Voltage input to LC circuit = 3.3v (peak to peak) Voltage out = 54.42v (peak to peak) Resonance frequency = 355kHz The voltage generator produces a square wave Vmax=3.3v, Vmin=0v, with an internal resistance of 20k ohms at a frequency of 355kHz. Duty cycle is 50%. to simulate the microcontrollers output pin. The buffer IC used, is the LMH6321. Is this circuit effective? Are the
  8. Hi, I've never noticed that the license for the examples of the stellaris launchpad were closed, they say explicitly that: # Texas Instruments (TI) is supplying this software for use solely and # exclusively on TI’s microcontroller products. The software is owned by # TI and/or its suppliers, and is protected under applicable copyright # laws. You may not combine this software with “viral” open-source # software in order to form a larger program. I wasn't very comfortable with this and I finally decided to write the needed linker script, startup file and the useful Makefile from sc
  9. Just curious if anyone got newer or even older one , my board is using the e"X"perimental release LX4F120H5QR with revision A3. Fyi, the link for latest errata document, LM4F120H5QR RevA1/A3 Errata (Rev. D) document -> http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/spmz611d
  10. Hi, This site has been a very good resource. I was able to get debugging from CCS to LM4F120 launpad working from ubuntu. So, now I'm moving on to my next issue... My environment: Ubuntu 12.04; CCS 5.2.1; TI Stellaris LM4F120 Launchpad. The launchpad target has to uUSB ports, one for debug the other for com, e.g. uartprintf(). The qs_rgb and helloworld examples use uartprintf() to communicate with a user, but I have not been able to get it to work from my ubuntu laptop. When I connect the 2nd (non-debug) USB to my laptop it does not enumerate. Any idea how I can get this t
  11. Hi, I'm trying to get my Stellaris Launchpad to work with the Energia IDE. I'm told to upload programs and to run the serial port I've got to create a udev entry. I'm relatively new to linux (although not Ubuntu) so could anyone please provide me with a sample udev file. My Stellaris board's on port /dev/ttyACM0, VID=1cbe and PID=00fd. As of now I'm using this -> # This file allows non-root access to TI stellaris launchpad # See udev(7) for syntax. # SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTRS{idVendor}=="1cbe",ATTRS{idP roduct}=="00fd",MODE="0666" KERNEL=="ttyACM0",ATTRS{idVendor}=="1cbe",ATTRS{id Product
  12. I've followed the cdcacm directions and have the MSP430 working with Energia! Well, I can upload Blinky example anyway. But, I can't get the Stellarpad to work. Upon upload I get "No ICDI device with USB VID:PID 1cbe:00fd found! Failed!" error. Linux Mint 3.2.0-23 kernel, fresh install yesterday Energia latest version downloaded and installed today Any suggestions?
  13. Karma Link. Should be able to see it in your profile view. Also, Stellaris Launchpad Initial Adopter awards will be given till the November 15th, 2012. So if your not awarded, reply below. Also, list the awards you would like to see. I'll start. BP Developer Award Code Contributor Blue Smoke(in case you blow up something, must provide proof)
  14. Hi guys, i want to make a little project to create a 360°photography tool. My dad has a brand new Stellaris Launch Pad LM4F120, so i want to make it with this piece of hardware. My idea is to control a servo (TowerPro MG995) that will rotate a white desk, where i will have placed for example a Phone. I need to program stellaris to rotate the desk for 22,5°then send a signal to a DSLR to make a photo, then rotate the desk further for 22,5°then make a photo and soo, till i get 16 photos of the phone so i can create a 360°photo. I am new at ARM programing so i need your help to point me
  15. At the eStore, the price just went up to $12.99. I thought they would extend it a bit more until they started shipping out and people make something out of it. Increasing it now will only hurt the eco system now.
  16. If by any chance your PC is not able to install drivers for the Stellaris Launchpad ICDI , follow this procedure. The quickstart guide does not have this. You also may want to use this if you have an older version of CCS. my version of CCS is 5.2.1.00018: Plugin your Stellaris Launchpad. You will see the following on device manager: Go here and download the Stellaris ICDI drivers. These are not FTDI drivers, but drivers for the emulator. There is no FTDI on the Stellaris Launchpad Point to the same folder for each of the three drivers. You will get this: Once installed,
