  1. Hello Guys, Im on new project. Im need help. First explain short me project . I want to connect a microcontroller via bluetooth to mobile phone. Only this have to do is know if microcontroller are on range. QUESTION is 1. MSP430 or any suggested microcontroller work ? 2. Which Bluetooth module work ?   3. Hi, I am designing a remote controlled system using an arduino uno board and a msp430 launchpad with the ASK RF module (HT12E and HT12D ICs). I am using the msp430 as the transmitter and the arduino uno for the reciever because of requirements of my application.   4. Hello, I managed to port the MPU9150Lib at https://github.com/richards-tech/MPU9150Lib to Energia. I had to make few changes in defines in dmp code, and the provided CalLib, and now it compiles for MSP430G2553, MSP430F5xx, Stellaris Launchpad, and the Tiva-C series (TM4C123) launchpad. CalLib writes to either flash or eeprom depending on architecture. It has failed for MSP430G2553, due to code size. It compiles for MSP430F5xx although I dont have a board yet to test. I have not tested the stellaris launchpad but I suspect it works, it does WORK on the Tiva-C series launchpad. H
  5. EDIT: Now on Tindie I have 2 new boards coming soon: GPS BoosterPack and standalone board. They will (most likely) come with pre-soldered and tested GPS module, and possibly as a kit. Standalone board has a socket and all necessary part to use it with MSP430G2553. The price of BP is $22, SA board will cost ~$25 (MCU not included.)
  6. Hi everyone! This is my second time on the forum. The first time i was here it was to ask for help with interrupts and an LED display. 43oh was very helpful and I accomplished my goal. Today I am here to ask for help again. Goal: Implement the code previously written into the chip only and drive it without the development board. (breadboard mode) I did some research and most post/websites told me that all i need is 3.3V and a 47k resistor going from VCC to the RST pin on the chip and that my program would start working...   7. Hello, I am basically new to msp430 and CCS, and I am having a hard time trying to understand code, interrupts and timers. Background info: Goal.- read and interpret a dual 7 segment LED display with 10 pins. So after playing around with this part I found out that the way this works is the driver pins (9, 6) toggle each other really fast ~4khz, 9 is on while 6 is of etc. My idea was to use the MSP430G2553 to read A-G on PORT1 and the 2 drivers (9, 6) on PORT2.   8. I loved the eZ430-Chronos. On the Internet many projects made ??on the basis of this development tool. But one thing I did not like is that you need a computer to manage their programs. And without a computer Chronos watch can not control anything. So I bought Anaren CC110L RF BoosterPack (868 Mhz). But this kit does not work with Chronos.   9. According to the docs, it takes ~100 microseconds: http://energia.nu/AnalogRead.html. I measured this and it seems to be almost exactly 100 microseconds. Why does it take so long? This limits me to 10kHz sample speed. By the way, how fast have any of you guys sampled on the ADC12 of F5529?
  10. I'm trying to create an interface to collect data from some sensors using MSP-EXP430F5529LP. The sensor setup is powered with 3.3V and draws about 10mA. I noticed J10 on the LP has 3.3V and GND. When powered with USB, can this provide enough power? If not, I'll need to hook up VREF+ and VREF-. According to the data sheets these are pins P5.0 and P5.1. How can I hook up to these, as they don't seem to have a place on the 40-pin headers?

  12. I built a 3d printer last year and needed a small light to illuminate the build area, this is what I came up with. I call it the ringLight. I thought about using an Adafruit Neopixel ring, but due to the finished part being for a specific size I decided to roll my own. I used a MSP430G2452 in the TSSOP 14 pin package for the micro.     Hi all, I have an msp-exp430g2, my power supply is from USB and i have another unit (LMR61428) that convert 3.3 volt to 5 volt. I need this conversion unit to work only when I need. if i connect it to the VCC pin, it works all the time. Ive tried to connect it to an I/O pin that I can program to be on and off but the current output from the I/O pins is to low. Is there anyway to program the VCC pins on and off? or to increase the current output of the I/O ports? P.S. i tried to build an electronic switch with a bi-poler transistor but i couldnt make it work Thanks, Ofe
  15. I'm trying to run my ACLK from XT2 and the MCLK, SMCLK from DCO. According to the datasheet I should be able to do this. I'm using a MSP430F5529LP. If I remove the stabalization loop from the code I get 7.8 MHz from all the clocks. I can never get the ACLK to work with XT2 even if I remove all traces of DCO, MCLK, SMCLK.   16. I'm trying to find the frequency of an incoming signal. I set the incoming signal (sine wave = 162 MHz, amp=3V) as the clock for TimerA0. TimerA2 will be used to keep count in order to calculate the frequency. Once the freq is calculated I'm setting the DCO for the SMCLK. Frequency should be around 20 MHz. The TIMER_A2 ISR is not accessed at all. Not sure if the correct ISR is being used or even if this is the best/simplest way to find the frequency.   20. Dear All, I am getting crazy trying to understand how "input offset compensation" works for MSP430F2132's comparator. According to MSP430F2132's data sheet (p40), it appears that: input offset can be cancelled by using CAEX bit to invert the comparator_A+ inputs on successive measurements. My point of interest is when input difference is within the input offset tolerance (+/- 30mV) of the comparator. In order to get the idea, I summarized all four cases in the attached table.
