  1. I put together a prototype Booster Pack that attaches to the CC3200 and has a RFID-RC522 card (sometimes called a MIFARE module), two buttons, and two LEDs. The CC3200 is connected to the cloud using Temboo. Currently it sends an email to me with information on the card used when accessed but it would be easy to modify to record time of access, card used, etc and put it into say a spreadsheet. This was a one afternoon plus an evening project for both hardware and software using Energia - very easy to do. The cards have security holes but I am pretty sure they pose too high a technical cha
  2. Hi, I am having trouble when trying to set the Serial Port and the Board. The options that it shows on the Guide for Mac to choose aren't options shown when I go to the tool tab on my Energia app! Please let me know!
  3. Hey everyone, I am trying to reduce the power consumption of my msp430FR4133 by reducing the clock speed from 8MHZ. I am using the http://annem.github.io/ADXL362/ example code as a base which sets the default clock speed to 8MHZ. I have read that the Wiring.c file defines the clock speed but I cannot find where F_CPU is defined. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
  4. Hi there, I am using a CC3200 launchpad, together with Energia 13. I am trying to connect the launchpad through MQTT to publish and receive messages (following Adrian Fernandez youtube on and blog on http://energia.nu/creating-an-iot-connected-sensor-with-energia-mqtt/). I succeeded on publishing information through MQTT to Node-Red, twitter etc., however I did not have any luck in subscribing. Since the blog (nor the video) does not state explicitly how to subscribe, my guess is that I have something wrong in my definitions. In the cloud side I am using Bluemix cloud, wit
  5. i am facing a problem of slow running energia from last few months but found no solution. energia ide 1.6.10e8 is installed on my system and it takes 5 min just to verify the blink led example which is simple code just imagine how ,long it would take to compile big codes antivirus is turned off if anyone there can sort out this would be really grateful, thanks.
  6. I am having trouble importing Energia projects into Code Composer Studio. The reason I want to do this is because I have other Energia projects that use specific libraries, and I am looking to debug them. I took the Blink example from Energia and saved the project to a new location. I have verified this, and it compiles successfully. I then opened Code Composer Studio, and imported the Energia Sketch to my workspace using the wizard from the menu button. The operation summary window popped up, and told me an issue was encountered, "Warning: Resource 'wiring_analog.c' already exis
  7. Hi, Greetings of the day, We are trying to access serial flash memory onboard Launchpad of CC3220SF using energia. Please help us in how to read/write to flash memory on CC3220SF. Further suggestions would be of great help. Tried to use SLFS, but compile errors.. Energia: 1.6.10E18 (Windows 10), Board: "CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL (80MHz)" Build options changed, rebuilding all C:\Users\Krishna\Documents\Energia\libraries\SLFS-master\examples\SLFS_Simple_Print_Read\SLFS_Simple_Print_Read.ino: In function 'void setupSLFS_Simple_Print_Read()':

  9. Hi, I am using MSP430 launchpad with G2553 controller. When I am using sleep(5000), and varying the voltage on the controller from 3v to 4v the timing is varying based on the voltage, but the timing in not changing when I am using delay(5000) when I am varying voltage. Any help will be appreciated. Regards,
  10. This project is an offshoot of an earlier investigation of wireless wearables using the MSP430G2553: http://forum.43oh.com/topic/10060-msp430-wearable-with-radio/. The concept has been successfully tested and is described below. I plan regular updates as the project progresses. The objective is to develop a wearable powered by a coin cell that can be controlled remotely. It could be used, as an example, in the tiara below or on a costume worn by dancers in a performance and controlled from offstage. In the photo an earlier MSP430G2553 coin cell powered wearable is attached to the tiar
  11. Good morning (or good evening)! First of all, if these questions are stupid, don't spare my feelings. I know better than anyone that I'm still new at this and I have thick skin. I've had a great deal of success writing my own sketches with Energia. It's fun, simple-to-use, and easy to explain to others, but I have a few questions: 1) is Energia suitable for firmware in a small commercial product or is it intended more as a rapid prototyping framework, with "permanent" firmware written in CC7? 2) When working with a PCB using the CC3200MOD, how would I flash my Energia sketc
  12. Hi, I am trying to play audio using a speaker with the help of CC3200MOD and Audio Booster Pack. I have got example code in CCS and it is working fine but most of my codes are written in Energia, therefore, I am trying to use Energia to code Audio Booster but I could not find any documents or examples. do you have any example codes on Energia? Kindly, share the link, it would be really very helpful to me. Thanks.
  13. Hi, How can I use UART interrupt in Energia? I tried but could not find any example or sample work.
  14. Is msp430fr5994 launchpad supported by any realese of energia ? I searched in boards section and couldn't find. Is there any patches to make it work ? Or it's not supported ?
  15. I wrote a sketch to fire 2 outputs back and forth with a pot to adjust the on time of the outputs and a pot to adjust the off time. The outputs are just LEDs for now and there is a 3rd LED that turns on when either output is on (so I can adjust the pots later when the outputs are only driving silent, solid state relays.) Every time the MSP430G2553 is powered up or reset, in the Launchpad or a bread board, all of the pins configured as outputs go high for about a second before the program starts to run There is a thread that comes up with a google search of the problem where everyone
  16. Please guide me how to port a library for energia or create one myself. I want to create library for SD card and Adafruit GFX. I will share it on Github and in this forum afterwards. Thank you.
  17. Hi all, I need to import/upload data to my MSP432P401R to call upon in future programs. Since I want this data to exist and be saved when my MSP432 is offline/powered-off, I decided that saving it to flash is the way to go. However, I don't know how to do this. Can anyone offer guidance or suggestions? Or does anyone have a better way of doing this? I'm using Energia v18.
  18. Hi! I would like to interface a combined GPS + GSM module to an MSP-EXP430FR5969 using Energia. The aim is at the press of a button/signal, an SMS is sent with the GPS lat/long coordinates at the time of the press. I am planning to use this module (https://tronixlabs.com.au/arduino/shields/3g-shield/adafruit-fona-3g-cellular-breakout-900-and-2100-mhz-for-optus-vodafone-australia/) to connect it all up. I've seen a lot of Arduino examples on this (e.g. using tinyGPS and softwareSerial) but I'm not sure if this same code will work on the MSP430. Will it? How can I go about chang
  19. Hello, I'm not used to playing with C/C++ or even with compiled languages so maybe it'll be a dumb question but after a lot of research, I don't know what to do. I have an issue at compilation in a CCS project for CC3200 and I've already posted a question in the compiler section of TI's forum. I got help : I know now that my error is that I'm trying to use methods defined in a header file without having the corresponding source file in the project. So I am getting an "undefined symbol" error on theses methods, as you can see on the following screenshot. As I started my proj
  20. Hi, I am using CC3200 LaunchXL for configuring LORA semtech 1272 over SPI Driver. I searched a lot example or reference for cc3200 for transmitting message using SPI but unable to get for Energia IDE. I have code for Arduino Lora implementation but unable to run it on Energia. Kindly help me as soon as possible Thanks and regards Rohit
  21. Hi All, I need to make ADC14 measurements in the multi mode at a sample rate of 8 kHz, but would like to use Energia's Serial and I2C functions. I have a stand alone driverlib routine that works fine, and Energia code that works fine with the Serial, and I2C, however, I am having difficulty integrating them. I noticed that the ADC14CTL0 register is changed from what my routine called in setup() did. I started reading the code in Energia/emt/src/ti/runtime/wiring/msp432/, and it appears that I may need to modify it to make this work, but before I go hacking, I want advice. Is there a g
  22. Hello, I have an issue related to SoftwareSerial.h related header file. I place this header file in ..\energia-0101E0017\hardware\cc3200\libraries. But still I got following error: D:\..\energia-0101E0017\hardware\cc3200\libraries\SoftwareSerial\SoftwareSerial.cpp: In member function 'virtual size_t SoftwareSerial::write(uint8_t)': D:\\..\\energia-0101E0017\hardware\cc3200\libraries\SoftwareSerial\SoftwareSerial.cpp:450:21: error: 'SREG' was not declared in this scope uint8_t oldSREG = SREG; ^ D:\..\energia-0101E0017\hardware\cc3200\libraries\Soft

  24. Hi, I'm trying to do a timerA initiated multiple channel conversion with the ADC14 in an MSP432. It seems that TI-RTOS wants to use all the TimerA modules. I believe this because I see the TAxR value stop. I also made a simple timer routine to blink the LED in the TA0 ISR, and it works sometimes and not others. I notice that there doesn't seem to be any drivers for TI-RTOS for the timers, and no example code for doing a multichannel convert triggered by TimerAx. I have bare metal code for driverlib that works perfectly, but when I put it into Energia, I get no interrupts, as the time
  25. Hi everyone, I am trying multitasking energia example provided in energia webpage as well as example available with energia IDE. (http://energia.nu/guide/multitasking/) However, the multitasking is not working. From the codes given in (http://energia.nu/guide/multitasking/) the section with setup/loop par is only operational while operations defined in setupGreenLed() / loopGreenLed() and setupRedLed()/loopRedLed() pairs are not executed. Kindly note that as mentioned each pair is declared as separate task. If multiple task panels does not contain standard setup/loop pair follow
