  1. Hello, I am using 2553 microchip using Launchpad Rev 1.4 According to https://github.com/energia/Energia/wiki/Hardware I have to cross the jumpers (check the image please) in order to use Serial Communication. How will i do that (without soldering)? Any idea? Thanks,

  6. Hi, I'm trying to get my Stellaris Launchpad to work with the Energia IDE. I'm told to upload programs and to run the serial port I've got to create a udev entry. I'm relatively new to linux (although not Ubuntu) so could anyone please provide me with a sample udev file. My Stellaris board's on port /dev/ttyACM0, VID=1cbe and PID=00fd. For the last couple of days i am getting below error while uploading to launchpad : / I have tried different usb ports, tried restarting etc.didn't work.. i am using win7 x64 and upload was working very good : / Any help?   9. Hello, I have Launchpad v1.4 and used it with Energia. The board is working with the 2231 chip but when replaced with 2553 Enrgia can not program the chip and getting a connnecton somethis related to the FET programmer. Any Idea how to solve this ? David
  10. I'm on osx with energia, and I just got my 430BOOST-SENSE1 cap touch board. 1) What does it take to start programming it with energia? (How does one add the libraries & examples from slac489 or slac490) 2) I got the demo working with the M430G2452 IC that came with the board, but eager to try energia I uploaded the blink example to the IC. While the middle LED blinks now, where/how can I get back the original demo to the chip when needed? 3) As a newbie hobbyist, should I be using something other then energia? Thanks in advance, I look forward to learning and experimenting!
  11. Surprisingly, the MSP430G2553 seems to require an extra initial mock reading data[0] = SPI.transfer(0); before starting to read the right address. Unfortunately, I can't provide logic analyser trace as the signal on the MSP430G2553 is below the threshold of my logic analyser which doesn't feature adjustable threshold. On the LM4F and on the MSP430G2553 with the initial mock reading data[0] = SPI.transfer(0); On the MSP430G2553 without the initial mock reading data[0] = SPI.transfer(0); The first reading returns ?. Hello, I have few questions about launchpad in general; 1-The internal thermometer is a seperate chip on launchpad or a feature in 2553 chip? 2-Does internal clock works stand alone (apart from launchpad) ? 3-Can we supply msp430xx chip standalone with a 3V battery cell?   17. Hello, After some reading from master's tutorials i have made my 4 digit, 7segment Led display, working with MSP430, I have used array definitions for digits and segments. Also i wrapped that within a function so that we can control the number and the digit we want to display. Probably code can be improved a lot, but this is i could do for now. Recommendations are welcomed.   18. I don't have one of these yet, I am still waiting for mine to arrive. My question is this: How many "individual" pins on this board are capable of doing analogWrite? I say individual as on the 2553 while there are 6 pins available, certain pins share the same timer, so you can only use 1 pin out of a "pair" which share a timer. So, that said, does anyone have an answer to this? Thank you! Also, I read somewhere that the pins on this board are 5 volt tolerant, however while reading the datasheet, it looks like that isn't the case. Would be great if I could use this boar
  19. I put this code together to test the hardware floating point implementation in the Yagarto toolchain we are using for the lm4f StellarPad. The code below takes advantage of the single precision hardware floating point available in the cortex-m4f. We stick to floats and use the single precision versions of the math routines, the code is smaller and fully use the vfp arm instructions. This is a prototype of a magnetic sensor BoosterPack for the TI MSP430 Launchpad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whgsB5hb-Pk The board has 3 Hall-effect magnetic sensors that sense a magnetic filed in the z-axis to the sensor.   22. Would it be a good idea to have a "sticky" thread which can be maintained / updated as necessary to point to the "most current" release download?   23. I'm attempting to talk to a digipot over SPI with energia. The pot in question is a microchip mcp4261 (http://ww1.microchip...eDoc/22059b.pdf). To communicate with it, you pull the CS pin active (low), send it a 2 byte command then pull the CS pin back high. Without quoting the entire the data sheet, the basic command sequence is a 4 bit register address, 2 bit command, and 9 data bits. When you issue the read command, it is supposed to return 9 bits of data (the value of the register). I've bread boarded this up using the SPI examples with the following layout: CS -> P2.0
  24. Hi, what do people suggest to use for debugging on Mac OSX when writing programs in Energia? Is using MSPDebug with the embedded msp430-gcc the best way to go? Or is perhaps a more complete solution like bsp430 a better way to go, with more controllable makefiles, etc? Cheers, H
