Met Matt at the faire yesterday and a couple of other guys - Luke, longhorn engineer, Robert(energia), teensy.

Alot of interest for the community generated boards. People were very surprised at the price point of the LP. More pictures/blog post later.

Below is a pic of the boards/booth. The guy at the booth is Adrian Fernandes. I'd congratulate him on the success of the LP. Awesome guy:

So I've been working on this for a little while now... I'll get a prototype of the mounting spacer from the CNC shop around the 9th... I have some boards already that were made purely for testing the footprint, lcd, and code. I've already got a batch of the production PCB's on order that are to make sure everything is good before I order a crapload of them... I'm looking at doing 100 of these.

Rob-LCDBack.pdf <-- This is the mounting spacer's general idea in 2d, working with the CNC to get it all perfect.

I will be using the Nokia 7110 LCD... dipmicro still has a fair stock of them, I'm going to order 100 of them when I get my next paycheck.

    Thoughts?

I will be taking a minor loss to make this happen at $4.30 each, it's still cheaper than a day at the slopes!

I've not had any trouble with my 5529 and usb stuff... and yes, LQFP is a breeze to solder. I use a small tip (900M-T-I) almost exclusively, works like a charm.

I'm doing my best to avoid any issues (like the 430 launchpad had), and we are on schedule to have 10k units in stock when we release to market. Price will still be <$20.

Here's the web server software for my Ethernet booster pack.
The software is 95% ready, still few bugs and some cleanup left, I will post the code when complete.

The whole thing takes up just under 4.5KB and uses ~400 bytes of RAM, so you still have ~11KB and ~100 bytes of RAM left for whatever you need.

BTW, I really need to get a tripod for my iPhone

I am almost done with the layout. However, I just got my WIZ820io (which is what I am using as a reference for my booster pack) and now I am thinking of using a different MagJack. For now, I will concentrate on the driver to make sure I can get W5200 to work with 2553.

@username, as you can see, even though this is QFN, it should be fairly easy to solder.
