Well that did fix my problem... I don't get it though. As I said in my original post, I installed the driver (same one) and it did nothing for me. Is there a difference between the one I linked to and the one you linked to? Regardless, I appreciate it.

I'm extremely new to microcontrollers so please bear with me. I followed these steps exactly: http://energia.nu/pin-maps/guide_msp430f5529launchpad/ When I plug in my board I can play around with the little button press application it comes with no problem. The issue is when I launch Energia, I can't select the serial port (the option is greyed out). I checked device manager and MSP Application UART and MSP Debug Interface both show up in "Other devices" with exclamations next to them. This is Windows 7 64 bit by the way. What could I have possibly done wrong? I'll also add that at one
