The Kindle edition has issues with displaying code and other things. The authors responded quickly when I pointed this out to say that they are trying to get this fixed. Other than that I thought it was a good "start from scratch here" type of book.

Hello all! I have been in electronics since... the 1970's or so, but have only recently become interested in the world of microcontrollers. I ordered my Launchpad yesterday and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I have no experience in programming, so it's going to be a real "start from scratch" on that aspect for me.
