Did anyone see the Hackster Live annoucement? They are recruiting ambassadors to host hardware meetups worldwide. If being a local community leader sounds interesting you should consider applying.

432 is here to stay. Expect to see more devices with a variety of memory, speed, peripheral, and package options. If you are building with a blend of performance and low power in mind, MSP432 can get you there. Did you see it's going to Antarctica?

Hi! Recommend Energia if you are new to programming the LaunchPad. Your project is not too difficult, logic is IF sensor threshold exceeded, then turn LED on. Else, turn LED off. Research your sensor you wish to use and there is probably example code available. If it is Arduino code, you can usually use this with Energia.

Bad example because looks like they only have 1 G2 LaunchPad left, but you could get some Grove modules or the Grove starter kit for LaunchPad.

Looks like they are having Seeeday promotion at Seeedstudio. I don't quite get the concept but it looks like you can buy certain items now and earn a coupon that can be used on Dec 9. So you could get Buy One, Get One 1/2 off on G2 LaunchPad i think, but you have to redeem on Dec 9.

Mark Easley TI got a reaction from vinicius.jlantunes in BoosterPack templates in Upverter
    Hi!

Just wanted to let everyone know that BoosterPack templates (20 pin and 40 pin) are now available in Upverter.  If you haven't tried Upverter yet, its a super cool and pretty polished online hardware design tool that will let you import popular formats like EAGLE and design PCB completely in the browser.  It allows for real time collaboration in the cloud (think google docs for board layout and schematics). Probably something that would be pretty useful for the 43oh community.

    40 pin: https://upverter.com/a-whitehead/9f164fea8af72827/40-Pin-LaunchPad-BoosterPack-Template---AW/
    20 pin: https://upverter.com/a-whitehead/3170001d9dd74890/20-Pin-LaunchPad-BoosterPack-Template---AW/

If you have any feedback on using Upverter, please post it here.  I'm curious to know what you all think about it compared to traditional design tools.

@@MSPLife Are you trying to set this up in Energia or SimpleLink SDK?  For Energia, please consult the Wifi library documentation: http://energia.nu/reference/wifi/

I believe you want to use the setDNS function: http://energia.nu/reference/wifi/wifi_setdns/

For the SimpleLink SDK there should be a code example available. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC32xx_SDK_Sample_Applications

Mark Easley TI got a reaction from KatiePier in Be aware : Launchpad can retain old code in memory
CCS is an industry grade IDE for serious embedded development. For customers starting out or who prefer something more lightweight and portable, Energia is a better choice.

Energia is also cool because the abstraction layer allows it to be architecture independent, so you can run the same sketches on MSP430, Tiva, C2000, etc.

Finally, if you ever want to "graduate" to CCS, CCS version 6 has an Energia import feature, so you can take your sketches and APIs you are familar with, but also take advantage of full HW debugger and many other features of CCS. The idea is to have multiple points of entry for customers, so that they can develop applications in the most comfortable way.

Everyone check out this kickstarter, it is very cool. I saw the live demo at Maker Faire. It makes you wonder what other cool applications you can do with a LaunchPad and some servos?

quick answer is e2e is supported by TI apps engineers, so you can get answers directly from TI, but for many questions people find good responses from the experienced community on 43oh. Post wherever you can get your queries resolved.

TI will be having a booth at the World Maker Faire in Queens, NY on September 21 & 22.  We'll be showing off some pretty awesome new additions to the TI ecosystem (*cough* *cough* New LaunchPad *cough*), stacks on stacks of BoosterPacks, Energia demos, and we'll be giving away some cool items. If you are in the area, stop by and chat us up!  Should be an amazing event.

Aside from launching new BoosterPacks, we are working with different 3rd Parties, like our friends at Element14, to enable Makers and 43oh members to design their own.  Look out for new resources available at www.ti.com/byob in the coming months.
