    Hi Yan,
Your library is awesome and i am getting closer to my own Light Alarm : ) thanks to you. Is there a way to set up the time? (For example current pc time > msp430 or at least a method to set it up manually?)
    Thanks,
    Sirri

it is working, thanks xv4y. But it is (seconds) around 2 times slower. How can we fix that? I am using the latest Energia and soldered the crystal to my launchpad rev 1.4 (2553 chip) thanks.

edit: after some trial and errors i have noticed if i change below on sRTC.cpp the seconds are almost accurate (maybe one second error in one minute) i believe that accuracy can be improved.

here is the change it worked for me, in case some beginner like me uses:
    TA1CCTL0 = CCIE; // CCR0 interupt activated // TA1CCR0 = 4096-1; // 4096 ticks of 32KHz XTal = 1 second => CCR0 counts N+1 TA1CCR0 = 1568-1; TA1CTL = TASSEL_1 | ID_3 | MC_1; // Clock for TIMER 1 = ACLK, By 8 division, up front

Thanks. Is it possible to use Launchpad 3.3 V for DS1307, instead of coin cell (3V) Anyone tried that?

I guess this is the only Energia RTC Library? Am i right?
My other question is;  Does it work with DS1307 IC just like it works in Arduino? Anyone tried?
    Thanks.

I'll see if I can locate any larger and test but a quick check tonight hasn't turned up any.

    Hi @@rotbeer and @@sirri,

I was trying to use P2.2 for chip select CS but noticed the change in the library and now use  P1.4.

    #define cs_pin      6     // P1.4
myerr = FatFs.begin(cs_pin,3); // initialize FatFS library calls

I think this was my problem.

    Hello,

Here is a ino file that allow to display temperature  from LM4F120 internal sensor.

It is based on example from TI workbook , ported a la mode Energia.

Nothing spectacular. I am slowly learning ARM and I wanted to share.

Hi @@sirri, I have the same setup as what you show in your pic and getting the same problem as you with "failed with rc=6".  I noticed you have CS connected to P2.2 but that gives me a rc=1 error on the FatFS.begin call.
Everything I'm reading says CS should be tied to P2.0 which lets the 'begin' work, but the 'read' and 'write' calls both give the 'rc=6' error.

    Did you get this working?

Not sure how to share a pic of the wiring on the forums.

Ok... solved the problem.  After reading the source code I noticed that the CS pin on the SD card in version 2.0 and higher of the code was moved to P2.2 on the MSP430.
That and a lot more debugging code and I found the issue!

Now onto getting sound files to load and play!

since i got everything needed to built it (the ti example)..... this is an exact realization of the schematic.

result pretty much in-line w/ what's described in the application note. here is no-load at 2.7V

below i had it drive a g2452 project. it settled at 1.9V which is a bit disappointing but it operates. the mcu works but the msgeq7 does not like it and did not behave.

i kind of like it as it could potentially shrink some project to 1xAAA power.

i know u can get 1.5v boost boards in ebay / dx for $3.00 but it is fun to play w/ transistors and real components too.

from the application note it was mentioned it can power simple projects (w/o sleep) up to 1000 hours on 1xAA, which makes it practical for real use in many applications.

it's fun to experiment, i tried w/ success on attinys long time ago. again depend on the application (i.e. how u draw current).

ti has this application note http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa105/slaa105.pdf which requires 4 transistors + some common components.

i always wanted to try but never get to it.

You can use a coin cell battery as well if you disable the debugger section w/ the bright LED that sucks power :-)

The Joule Thief is only suited for applications where lack of regulation and extreme ripple are not an issue -- such as pulsing an LED.

If you want a cheap and simple regulator boost regulator to *reliably* power an msp430, take a look at the Microchip MCP1623, MCP1624, or MCP1640.
