There was alot of work that went into this product, but it substantially lowers the barries to entry for CLA use. I highly recommend you guys check this out as the CLA can effectively double the MIPS of a processor which has it.

I think these connectors are near end of life. We do sell them, but I think they are hard to find through normal distributors. You can get a 5 pack from TI here:

and the Molex part number is: 87630-1001

    Hi Bluehash,

I registered to the Forum in anticipation to the March 15th Avnet C2000 webcast. I also saw that some folks are working on some new platforms using this uC. Like everything else, I'm here to learn as much as I can. So far, no complaints on the forum software.

msptest6 reacted to TI_Trey in atan() function taking alot of time to execute
    Grim,
If you are just calling atan and including math.h you are using the default atan implementation present in the run time support library. This code is very well optimized for our devices. Depending on if you have floating point or not there are a couple options for faster math. Check out the math directory in controlsuite/libs. There are implementations of atan for the CLA, IQMath, and FPU. If you use the FPUFastRTS library make sure it is first in the link order otherwise the standard atan function might get linked in instead of the fast one.

I remember asking this to TI Support a long time ago. This was done in CCSv3.3. There should be no problem though getting it to work with CCSv5. It also came with the following notes:

msptest6 reacted to TI_Trey in CAN bus termination resistor
Technically the CAN standard states the CAN bus should have 1x 120 ohm resistor at each end of the CAN bus (for two total). Your vehicle is already properly terminated otherwise the CAN bus wouldn't work. Adding an extra termination resistor won't hurt anything and as Spiff says will cut down on reflections. Past a certain point though, too many termination resistors will drop the bus's impedance too low and will cause the trasceivers to work harder than needed which could eventually burn some of them out over time.

If you really need one urgently, may I suggest the Picollo Control Stick. It retails for $39 at the TIEstore. Also, keep an eye on TIDeals. They come up with really good deals. The Picollo sold for $33 last week. It is now sold out.

msptest6 reacted to TI_Trey in Can I buy the C2000 docking station separately?
I've had a few emails back and forth with our marketing guys and they aren't very receptive to the idea of doing a seperately packaged docking station.

We are fighting we our CM right now and they simply don't want to deal with the headache of doing another project with them.

I'm not saying this won't happen, but this could potentially take some time. I'll keep this in the back of my mind and continue to push for it with management. I appreciate the feedback and ask that this forum continue to give me ways I can help to improve user experience of C2000 products.

Hmm... try using the trip zone. I have used it once before for shutting down gate drives during a fault.

To the best of my knowlege, you cannot buy the docking station seperately. The thinking behind that is that intially users don't have a docking station or controlcard, so they buy both. Then in the future as they migrate to different devices they just buy additional controlcards.

Now that most of our controlCards have an on board emulator, I think the above paradiagm is shifting to where people buy controlcards and evaluate those without the docking station. Then after selecting the device for a project, they need a platform to develop on. This leads to the issue which you've run into sparks. I'll talk with some of our marketing guys and see if we can't get these into the e-store.

Yes, completely separate installations. You'll want to create a new workspace in v5.1 and import your projects. It can be messy if you try to share a workspace.

    Hello,
    Welcome to C2KC, Grim.
Lets see... did you run the setup_m3 project first? This releases GPIO to the C2000. I'm not sure which example you are running. In the F28M35x_examples_Control, you will find setup_m3 along with blinky.
