  1. It would be great if support for the TI TM4C1294 connected launchpad were added. The current sample provided by TI is problematic, see: http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/tiva_arm/f/908/t/358842.aspx.

  3. Any older TI fanboys will remember the TI 99/4 home computer. Here is a project to re-power it with a Raspberry PI: http://makezine.com/2014/08/07/the-ti-pi-a-raspberry-pi-powered-ti-994a/
  4. Here are a couple of blog posts about CANbus that may be useful. First "CAN interface for Stellaris Launchpad" http://www.fischl.de/arm/can_bus_interface_for_stellaris_launchpad/ HardwareThere are a couple of CAN bus transceivers from different manufactures. I used the MCP2551 from Microchip which works on 5V. Because most controller pins (including the used CAN pins) are 5V tolerant, this is no problem and the chip can be directly connected. Next a "USBtin - Simple USB to CAN interface" http://www.fischl.de/usbtin/ USBtin - Simple USB to CAN interfaceUSBtin is a simple to bui
  5. I agree that this is a great deal at $82 delivered so I ordered one. It just arrived today.
  6. Is there a resource somewhere that lists all booster packs (Both TI and third party) and cross references them to the boards they will work with?
  7. Sorry, I was not responding to your post in particular. My comment was intended to be sort of a footnote for anyone reading this thread and interested in purchasing a "first" oscilloscope. The point being that one can get a high quality used scope for low dollars if one wants. This is not necessarly true for other test instruments. The big differences I see between an older scope and most new scopes are: 1) older scopes are generally analog while most new schopes are digital. 2) older schopes are generally are just scopes while new schopes, because they are digital, often have
  8. I have a used Tek scope that I picked up for less than $100. It is dual channel and 100 MHz analog. It is rock solid and I love it. As they say, your mileage may vary ;-)
  9. Personally I believe there is a big difference between a regular contribuitor posting an oppurtunity where the primary motivation is to help others (my company is offering paid summer interships for students for example) and a head-hunter merely trying to earn a fee. Perhaps a rule that states if you have been a member for at least a year, have so many reputation points, and will not be directly compensated for finding a canidate, then you can post for free would be good. If someone comes along who does not meet these critera then let him buy an ad on the site(s).

  13. There is a construction article "An RF Filter Evaluation Tool" in the July-August 2014 issue of QEX magazine which uses a MSP430. http://www.arrl.org/files/file/QEX_Next_Issue/2014/Jul-Aug_2014/Richardson_QEX_Jul-Aug_2014.pdf

    can bus?

@spirilis have you worked with NMEA 2000 which is basically CANBus for boats?
  15. I just ordered a couple of these an am interested in using them with the EK-TM4C1294XL Connected LaunchPad. This combination seems ideal for a CAN bus to eithernet bridge. Do you have any thoughts on this or see any reason why this combination might have issues? Thanks.
  16. WHat is the status for support of this new launchpad?
  17. I have a MSP-EXP430F5529LP and I just downloaded the latest veresion of Energia, the 9/12/2013 release. I connected the board an verified it was working by opening notepad and pressing button 1 and button 2 to see the text returned. I then loaded Energia but when I try to set the serial port that option is greyed out. Can someone tell me how to properly set the port and board under the tools menu? Thanks.
  18. If available I would like to get two (2) boards or one (1) if 2 are not available. This looks like a great project and I already have an old toaster oven ready for this.
  19. Would have been way cooler if he had used the stove to make steam and run the car on that!
  20. Did you get my request from Posted 23 November 2012 - 03:17 PM included in this order?
  21. I would like to get 4 boards & 4 modules + headers if available. Thanks.
  22. WOW! these definately look interesting. Are you still planning on a group buy?
