The driver is ILI9340. The nice thing about it is that you can read driver's memory, so XORing and other tricks are possible.

Great! So the new BoosterPack can feature SRAM for screen caching with my LCD_GUI library!

Hi Rob,

I got one of your original screens...loving it.

After seeing this above..

.... Board options include backlight transistor, .....

It got me thinking... Its not possible to turn off backlight on original screens is it ?

Would explain why I cant turn backlight off....

BTW. The new one sounds great. +1 for including touch on it.

Cheers

PTB

Some older versions do have backlight option, PM me which version you have.

This BP (320x240) doesn't have touch screen.

In store in couple of weeks.

BTW, this Booster Pack requires new library which I will post shortly.

Hey RobG ... Nice job.  Got one of these for my embedded application prototype ... too right.  Need a little help however.  Would you post direct or by reference a data sheet that will allow me to program the LCD unit.  Likewise some info on how to get to the microSD if I need to have some extra space, and perhaps any other memory spaces.

Thanks man, keep up the creative effort, really glad your out here.

Thanks!

Here's the latest driver you can use (supports G and F series.)

I don't have any SD card examples yet, but I do have some examples for the optional on board memory (23Kxxx or 25AAxxx.)

Schematic is attached. Datasheet is too big to attach, so just search for ILI9340 or ILI9342.

Thanks for the schematic. I'm trying to determine which G2553 pins remain unused. P1.1-P1.3, P2.1, XIN, XOUT, TEST, RST, appear to be unused.

Is that correct?

Do you think I could hook up a SMBus device to a Launchpad with this screen on it? The screen would be nice for charge monitoring.

The only problem is that this BP uses USCI-B. You would have to map it's pins to use USCI-A. This way USCI-B could be used for SMBus. Which LP do you have?

SMBus using MSP430
